Sensible if sombre piece by Simon Jenkins in today's paid for Guardian on the lunacy of heavy handed attacks on Iran's nuclear capability. Only marred by a throwaway line that it is Israel's problem rather than ours if the Iranians really are planning to lob a big bomb in that direction. Maybe they are mad enough to do such a thing. Maybe our leaders know something that we do not - but after the Iraq mess can we trust them?
I don't suppose our ancient and supine Houses of Parliament would do anything so bold as to make a law expressly forbidding the Executive to make or materially support attacks on Iran - perhaps including here assassinations - without the express and contemporaneous consent of both Houses.
I don't suppose either that the Israelis will let up on the Palestinians.
